2017年の7月から国際交流員として着任しましたサラ・クラークです。
アメリカ合衆国モンタナ州のミズーラ市の出身です。
子供の時、アニメを見たきっかけで日本に興味を持ちました。

長野市の皆様へメッセージ

Nice to meet you! My name is Sala Clark, and I started working as a Coordinator for International Relations in July of 2017.

I grew up in Missoula, Montana. Montana is a big state in the north west part of the US- it's actually a little bit bigger than Japan!
I am from the western side of the state, which has tall mountains and a long winter.

I grew up watching anime on TV, and developed an interest in Japan.
I'm very interested in history and tradional culture, so I'm excited to be living in a city with such a famous temple!

I studdied Japanese and Political Economy at Williams College in Massachusetts, way on the other side of the USA.
I love traveling, so I decided to study abroad as well, and spent my Junior year in Makuhari, Chiba. I decided that l liked living in Japan enough that I would come back after graduation, so here I am!

In my free time I like to read books, manga, and travel.
I'd also love to try out some new hobbies while I live in Nagano.

As a CIR, I would be very happy if I was able to help streathen the relationship between Japan and America.
Communication is essential for international peace and cooperation, and I think international exchange is the best way to facilitate that.

I am very excited to be living in Nagano, home of the 1998 Olympics in the run-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Olympic Games are not only a wonderful oportunity to do international exchange on the large scale, with international sports teams, but as grass-roots activism as well.
I want to help Nagano Citzens and international visitors learn about each other's cultures, and enjoy themselves together.

初めまして！サラ・クラークと申します。平成29年の7月から国際交流員として働いています。

モンタナ州のミズーラ市から参りました。モンタナというのはアメリカの北西にある大きい州です。 日本より大きいです！ミズーラ市はモンタナ州の西側にあって、高い山と長い冬があるところです。

子供の時、アニメを見たきっかけで日本に興味を持ちました。 伝統的な文化や歴史に興味があるので、そんな有名なお寺がある市に住めてうれしいです。

マサチューセッツ州であるウイリアムズ大学で日本語と政治経済を勉強しました。 アメリカの東側だったので、モンタナ州から遠いです。旅行が大好きなので、千葉県幕張市で留学しました。日本の生活が好きで、日本に戻りました！

休み時間には読書、漫画を読んだり、旅行をします。長野に住む間、新しい趣味もやってみたいです。

CIRとして、日米関係を強化することで助けることができれば、よいと思います。 平和について、コミュニケーションは一番大切なことと思うので、国際交流は大事だと思います。

東京オリンピック・パラリンピックを前に、1998年にオリンピックを開催した長野市に住むことを楽しみにしています。 オリンピック・パラリンピックは国際交流機会だけではなく、草の根交流にも良い機会となります。 長野市民と海外の人々が一緒に文化を学んだり、楽しんだりすることを助けられたら嬉しいです。
