Accepting submissions for the 11th "Nagano as Taken by International Residents" Photo Exhibit! Nagano City will host the exhibit from May 9th to May 13th in the JR Nagano Station Ringo Hiroba (3rd floor of Midori).

A stamp rally is being held in commemoration of the 1 year anniversary of the completion of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line to Kanazawa. Antenna shops or branch stores from the prefectures connected by the Hokuriku Shinkansen are located in Tokyo. There are six shops representing Nagano, Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui Prefecture, which will also be accessible via the Hokuriku line in the future.

The stamp rally will run from Friday, February 12 until Monday, March 21.
Gold: Up to 5 people who obtain 5 stamps will each receive ￥30,000 vouchers which can be used at designated hotels in the participating prefectures.
Silver: Up to 25 people who obtain 5 stamps will each receive ￥10,000 (￥2,000 for each prefecture) in vouchers.
Bronze: Up to 100 people who obtain 3 stamps will each receive ￥2,000 in vouchers that can be used at the antenna shops.
The first 1,250 applicants will receive a prize.
Regular products will also be on sale at discounted prices. Customers who spend ￥500 or more will be entered into a raffle to win:
Gold: ￥5,000 worth of goods - 5 customers
Silver: ￥1,000 worth of goods - 25 customers
Bronze: One of the antenna shops recommended products - 50 customers

「早いもので、北陸新幹線（長野経由）長野‐金沢間が開業してもうすぐ1周年。
というわけで、銀座NAGANOをはじめとする、長野、新潟、富山、石川の北陸新幹線の沿線県4県＋これからつながる福井を加えた5県の6つのアンテショップで、1周年を記念した共同キャンペーンを開催します！

Famous for shrines, soba, and even ninja, Togakushi is also accessible in the winter for skiing and snowboarding as well! In order to leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy your time there, why not try staying in one of the many Japanese style inns located in the vicinity of the shrines?
The Alpico Group provides regular bus service to all of the above areas. English information is also available here. Discount round trip tickets and ski resort discount passes can also be purchased from Nagano Bus Terminal or the Bus Information Counter located in front of the number 7 bus stop.

Nagano Prefecture is the prefecture with the longest life expectancy in the country, and the reasons behind this are being explored in detail. One reason that has been highlighted is Nagano's food culture and intake of products of fermentation such as miso. Nagano City has teamed up with the Institute of Fermentation for the Future, and a course is now being offered in English about the benefits of fermentation and how fermentation works. This course will certify participants as Hakko (Fermentation) Ambassadors, so you can reap the benefits of fermented food products and share the good of fermentation with the world.
